Baseball Recap: York Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

York put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dreher Blue Devils a 10-0 shutout. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

Larson Montgomery was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Lukas Carroll was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Henry Fulk, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

York pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Dreher, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Dreher will welcome Fairfield Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. York will be paying especially close attention to the Blue Devils' matchup: after the Blue Devils faces off against the Griffins, they'll take on York again at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
