Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lafayette). They blew past the Mid-Buchanan Dragons 14-8 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Fighting Irish needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Lafayette has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Mid-Buchanan, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Chillicothe on the 29th. As for Mid-Buchanan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against West Platte on the 29th.
