Football Recap: Smith Vo-Tech Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ludlow last Friday, Smith Vo-Tech came back down to earth. The Vikings fell 14-8 to the Easthampton/Hampshire Eagles on Friday. The Vikings have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Luis Salgado was a one-man wrecking crew For Easthampton/Hampshire. as he rushed for 58 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also picked up 52 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 58 rushing yards gave Salgado a new career-high.

Smith Vo-Tech now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Easthampton/Hampshire, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Smith Vo-Tech and Easthampton/Hampshire will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vikings are set to take on their familiar foe Pathfinder RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Easthampton/Hampshire will face off against rival Taconic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
