Baseball Game Preview: Denver Cyclones vs. Columbus Sailors

The Denver Cyclones will take on the Columbus Sailors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Denver is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Sumner-Fredericksburg just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Columbus, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Thursday by a score of 12-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sailors considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

The victory snapped Columbus' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-9-1 record. As for Denver, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Denver was able to grind out a solid win over Columbus in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, winning 5-1. Do the Cyclones have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sailors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
