Baseball Game Preview: San Fernando Tigers vs. Verdugo Hills Dons

The San Fernando Tigers will face off against the Verdugo Hills Dons at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither San Fernando nor Verdugo Hills posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

San Fernando saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell just short of Venice by a score of 2-1. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Gondoliers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

San Fernando saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ray Pelayo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Pelayo is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Verdugo Hills suffered their closest defeat since February 25th on Monday. They fell just short of San Fernando by a score of 4-2. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Verdugo Hills also got a good showing from Milo Medeiros, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

San Fernando's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Verdugo Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

San Fernando came out on top in a nail-biter against Verdugo Hills when the teams last played on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
