Basketball Recap: Tanner Comes Up Short

Tanner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles and fell 67-26. The Rattlers were probably out for revenge after losing 78-19 to them when the teams met back in November of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leslie Hames, who went 10 of 22 on her way to 27 points along with seven steals and six boards. That's the most steals Hames has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Genie Mcghee, who dropped a triple-double on 12 boards, ten assists, and 11 steals.

Tanner's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Tanner won't have much time to rest: their next game is against James Clemens at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Good Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Good Hope will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Decatur Heritage Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
