Softball Recap: Columbia Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Columbia and Poplarville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Columbia had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 11-3. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Poplarville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-10-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Hornets beat Columbia by a score of 8-3 later that day.
