Baseball Game Preview: Spring Lake Lakers vs. Comstock Park Panthers

The Spring Lake Lakers are taking a road trip to face off against the Comstock Park Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Spring Lake will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Spring Lake can't be too worried about heading out to take on Comstock Park: they just beat Montague at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Lakers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Comstock Park beat Godwin Heights 6-3 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won nine in a row.

Spring Lake pushed their record up to 30-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.75 runs across that stretch. As for Comstock Park, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Everything went Spring Lake's way against Comstock Park when the teams last played back in June of 2019, as Spring Lake made off with a 12-0 win. Do the Lakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
