Santa Margarita posted their closest win since April 10, 2024 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Laguna Beach Breakers, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Santa Margarita took Laguna Beach into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 26-28, 25-18, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Laguna Beach saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dylan Sweet had 12 digs and four assists.

Santa Margarita pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Laguna Beach, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Santa Margarita has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Classical Academy on the 7th. As for Laguna Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Portola on the 4th.
