Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Floyd). They blew past the San Jon Coyotes 52-10 on Thursday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-2.

Floyd got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reiley Melton out in front who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Edwin Gallegos, who earned six points.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for San Jon, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Floyd will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clovis Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for San Jon, they will venture away from home to challenge Grady at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
