Basketball Game Preview: Cardington-Lincoln Pirates vs. Northmor Golden Knights

Cardington-Lincoln has gone 9-1 against Northmor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cardington-Lincoln Pirates will head out to challenge the Northmor Golden Knights at 7:15 p.m. Cardington-Lincoln will be strutting in after a victory while Northmor will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, Cardington-Lincoln strolled past Danville with points to spare, taking the game 44-27. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 718th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cardington-Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinstin Henthorn, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 15 points and four steals. Henthorn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Abigail Hardwick was another key player, going 6 of 14 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Cardington-Lincoln smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Northmor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-39 heartbreaker at the hands of East Knox.

Cardington-Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Northmor, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Cardington-Lincoln strolled past Northmor in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 55-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cardington-Lincoln since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
