Football Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pike County Bulldogs. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Carroll saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kayden Cole rushed for 228 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Cole showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.

A big part of Pike County's win came down to the chemistry between Cornelius Griffin Ii and his top target Braylin Jackson. Griffin Ii rushed for 41 yards and one score while Jackson rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Jacorey Knox did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Pike County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Carroll will host Montgomery Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pike County, they will head out on the road to take on Daleville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Warhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
