Basketball Recap: Maumelle Takes a Loss

Maumelle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hot Springs Trojans. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

Maumelle's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hot Springs, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Maumelle and Hot Springs will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hornets will challenge rival Beebe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hot Springs is set to face off against their familiar foe Sheridan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
