Football Game Preview: Northview Chiefs vs. Baker Gators

Northview hasn't had much luck against Baker recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chiefs will head out to square off against the Gators at 7:00 p.m.

Northview is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 46 points on September 12th, they were much more limited against Holmes County last Friday. They took a 25-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils.

Although Northview took the loss, they still got scores from Caleb Levins and Nate Duffy.

Meanwhile, Baker put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Houston County 43-16. With the Gators ahead 37-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Northview better keep an eye on Justice Baldwin. He was instrumental in Baker's win, throwing for 226 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 39 yards and one score.

Northview's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Baker, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Northview has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 233.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Baker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 187.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Northview lost to Baker on the road by a decisive 20-6 margin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
