Baseball Recap: Green County Drops Season-High Score on Hart County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Green County). Everything went their way against the Hart County Raiders on Thursday as they made off with a 23-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Hayden Blakeman, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, three doubles, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Larson Matney was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five RBI and one double.

The victory got Green County back to even at 6-6-2. As for Hart County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green County will welcome Fort Knox at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hart County, they will host Macon County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
