Cushing and Mt. Enterprise are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Cushing Bearkats will head out on the road to face off against the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Monday, Cushing was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Overton. The Bearkats have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mt. Enterprise fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Alto on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 59-57. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellowjackets 17-12 in the first quarter.

Cushing will need to focus on slowing down Kaegan Ash, one of several Mt. Enterprise players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Ash a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tracey Thompson, who posted seven points in addition to 16 boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Mt. Enterprise smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Mt. Enterprise dropped their record down to 6-17 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Cushing, their record now sits at 10-17.

Cushing took their win against Mt. Enterprise in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 57-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cushing since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
