Basketball Recap: Owen Valley Comes Up Short

Owen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-30 loss at the hands of the Edgewood Mustangs. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Owen Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan S Mahon and Jesse Durnil. S Mahon posted six points, while Durnil scored six points. The dominant performance gave S Mahon a new career-high in points. Nolan Van Arsdale also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Carson Huttenlocker, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kamren Ranard, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points and five boards.

Owen Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Edgewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Owen Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-11 loss against Clay City on the 18th. As for Edgewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-46 defeat against Greencastle on the 18th.
