Dynamic duo of Cambelle Brammer and Addison Eyre lead Fruita Monument to victory

Recap: Fruita Monument Wildcats vs. Chaparral Wolverines

There's no place like home for the Fruita Monument Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-41 win over Chaparral on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Fruita Monument, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Leading Fruita Monument to victory were Cambelle Brammer and Addison Eyre. Brammer dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Eyre scored 14 points. Hailee Wagner was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Lauren Thompson and Reagan Lentell certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Thompson scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Lentell scored 15 points. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Jenkins, who scored seven points.

Fruita Monument is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Chaparral, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fruita Monument will face off against Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Fruita Monument focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Chaparral, they will head out on the road to challenge Highlands Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Chaparral is ranked 30th, while Highlands Ranch is ranked 22nd).
