Basketball Game Preview: Pine View Panthers vs. Provo Bulldogs

The Pine View Panthers and the Provo Bulldogs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Provo took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pine View, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Pine View didn't have too much trouble with Timpview as they won 45-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Provo has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 71-56 fall against Snow Canyon on Thursday.

Pine View will have to keep a close watch on Lydia Ibarra and Sage Yenchik, a pair of players who had a big impact on Provo's prior game. Ibarra almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Yenchik shot 42% from the field on her way to 21 points. Ibarra is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ember Yenchik was another key player, putting up five points.

The win got Pine View back to even at 3-3. As for Provo, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Pine View and Provo were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but Pine View came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss.
