Academic Magnet's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 39-38 photo finish over the Andrews Yellowjackets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 46-32 on January 9th.

Leading Academic Magnet to victory were Nina Pistorious and Suzette Head. Pistorious went 6-for-9 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds, while Head shot 67% from the field en route to 14 points. Those 14 points gave Head a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Andrews lost, don't look at Camaria Gibson. Despite the final result, she posted 28 points. Gibson has become a key player for the Yellowjackets: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least 25 points, but 4-12 otherwise. Makayla Singleton was another key player, putting up seven points.

Academic Magnet's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Andrews, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Academic Magnet wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-12 loss against Timberland on the 30th. As for Andrews, they have also already played their next contest, a 37-14 defeat against Woodland on the 29th.
