Softball Recap: Peak to Peak's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Peak to Peak took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against The Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pumas had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 8-7. The win was familiar territory for the Pumas, who have now won four contests in a row.

Margot McCune made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Peak to Peak got a big performance out of Evelyn Deemurrie, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Grace Trasky, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Peak to Peak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Peak to Peak's record is now 10-13. As for The Academy, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-12.

As of now, neither Peak to Peak nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
