Softball Recap: Millard Comes Up Short

After flying high against Delta last Wednesday, Millard came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Beaver Beavers on Tuesday, falling 21-11. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Beavers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Millard got a massive performance out of Maren Davies, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Davies is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in four or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jansie Chlarson, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Millard's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Beaver, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Millard will venture away from home to challenge Milford at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. Beaver will be paying especially close attention to Millard's contest: after Millard faces off against Milford, they'll take on Beaver again at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
