Mentor had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-1  victory over the Strongsville Mustangs. Three seems to be a good number for the Cardinals as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 Addison Belviso spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Sophia Smalley was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.
Mentor pushed their record up to 17-7 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Strongsville,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-9.
 Coming up, Mentor will be playing at home against Riverside  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Strongsville, they are taking a road trip to  take on Medina  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Battling Bees have averaged an impressive 8.6  runs per game this season.
