Baseball Recap: South Pittsburg Wins Going Away Against Pisgah

South Pittsburg had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Pisgah on Monday. South Pittsburg was the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over Pisgah. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pirates considering their one-run performance the game before.

Bailey Fults made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Pittsburg is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Fults was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Stone, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Hibbs, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

South Pittsburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

South Pittsburg's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Pisgah, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pittsburg will welcome North Sand Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Sand Mountain will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something South Pittsburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pisgah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fyffe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
