Goddard is 8-2 against Portales since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rockets will look to defend their home court against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Goddard will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Goddard is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Artesia, who was ranked tenth at the time (Goddard was ranked seventh). The Rockets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs on Monday.

Goddard got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 30-28.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Portales, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Lovington with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday.

While Portales won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-7, 25-7.

Portales' win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Goddard, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2.

Goddard beat Portales 3-1 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
