Basketball Game Preview: Saratoga Central Catholic Saints vs. Stillwater Warriors

Saratoga Central Catholic hasn't had much luck against Stillwater recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Saratoga Central Catholic Saints will head out to square off against the Stillwater Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

On Monday, Saratoga Central Catholic was beaten by Greenwich 74-30. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Witches are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Stillwater had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 68-15 win over the Hawks. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Stillwater pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points per game. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

Things could have been worse for Saratoga Central Catholic, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Stillwater in their previous meeting back in January.
