Baseball Recap: Eagle Takes Down Ranked Ridgevue

Eagle faced Ridgevue in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Eagle's pitchers stepped up to hand Ridgevue a 5-0 shutout.

Stephen Egan looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Easton Gothberg, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Eagle's record now sits at 6-3. As for Ridgevue, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2-1 record.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eagle 2.4, Rocky Mountain 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Ridgevue will take on rival Kuna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
