After losing to Watertown the last time they met, DeForest decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Norskies had just enough and edged out the Goslings 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Norskies.
DeForest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-13.
Haylin Arnold paced DeForest's offense, picking up 23 kills. Arnold got some help from Morgan Bentel and her 40 assists. Kendall Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
DeForest's victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Watertown, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 21-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, DeForest and Waunakee will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Watertown, they will challenge Monona Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
