Softball Recap: Richland Rams vs. Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays        
        
		
            
 After a string of four wins, Richland's good fortune finally ran out  on Saturday. They fell  9-5 to the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays. Richland has struggled against Conemaugh Valley recently, as their  contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
 For Conemaugh Valley's part,  Madelynn Beiter spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 17 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Katie Ledwich was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, seven  RBI,  and three  runs while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kylee Ferguson, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Having lost for the first time this season, Richland  fell to 4-1. As for Conemaugh Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
 Richland will head out on the road to  square off against  Chestnut Ridge at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (Chestnut Ridge: 2, Richland: 2.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Conemaugh Valley, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  16-1  win vs. Greater Johnstown on the 20th.
