Soccer Recap: Palacios Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Palacios had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hallettsville Brahmas a 3-0 shutout on Friday. The score was close at the half, but the Sharks pulled away in the second half with two goals.

They hit Hallettsville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isaiah Castaneda, Esteban Muniz, and Sergio Mier.

Palacios picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-11. As for Hallettsville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palacios will host Rice Consolidated at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hallettsville, they will be playing at home against El Campo at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. El Campo knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Hallettsville likes a good challenge.
