Softball Preview: Damascus Hornets vs. Clarksburg Coyotes

The Damascus Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Clarksburg Coyotes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Damascus will be strutting in after a win while Clarksburg will be coming in after a defeat.

Damascus never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Sherwood last Saturday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-2 victory.

Alyssa Clark made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Clark was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Damascus let Josie Hoffacker and Kailyn Sheahin loose on the outfield. Hoffacker scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Sheahin scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Amaya Hammond, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
