Volleyball Game Preview: Norwayne Bobcats vs. Dalton Bulldogs

Norwayne has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Dalton has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Bobcats will host the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Norwayne won the last time they faced Smithville and Laney Dudte did her part to make sure it happened again. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Smithies on Tuesday thanks in part to Dudte, who had 17 digs and one assist. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last three times she's played.

One reason for the win was Norwayne's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21, 25-20.

Norwayne relied on the efforts of Layla Smithberger, who had 15 assists and four digs, and Ava Maibach, who had 17 kills, 16 digs, three blocks, and two aces.

Meanwhile, Dalton beat Waynedale 3-1 on Tuesday.

Dalton walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 23-25, 25-21.

Dalton's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Norwayne, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
