Preview: Haverford School Fords vs. Friends Select

The Haverford School Fords will head out on the road to square off against Friends Select at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Haverford School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Friends Select likes a good challenge.

Haverford School scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Germantown Academy with points to spare, taking the game 82-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Meanwhile, Friends Select came up short against Academy of the New Church on Tuesday and fell 53-45. While losing is never fun, Friends Select can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Academy of the New Church is ranked 23rd).

Haverford School pushed their record up to 14-9 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Friends Select, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Haverford School came up short against Friends Select when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 57-49. Can Haverford School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
