Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Southeast Knights vs. Fremont Tigers

The Lincoln Southeast Knights will take on the Fremont Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fremont took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln Southeast, who comes in off a win.

Lincoln Southeast took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-37 win over Columbus. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-20.

Mari Shumaker went supernova for Lincoln Southeast, going 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Shumaker is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaysean McKinney, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Lincoln Southeast smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Fremont came up short against Lincoln High on Saturday and fell 60-48. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lincoln Southeast, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Lincoln Southeast beat Fremont 73-60 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Fremont's Maurice Bryant, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Lincoln Southeast still be able to contain Bryant? There's only one way to find out.
