Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lexington walked away with it. They skirted past the East Bernard Brahmas 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Brahmas on Thursday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Taylor Akin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubrie Mathews, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Lexington's win bumped their record up to 24-8-2. As for East Bernard, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 26-9.

Lexington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Brahmas: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
