Basketball Recap: Eugene Takes a Loss

Eugene was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 66-25 loss at the hands of the Linn Wildcats. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.

Linn got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kiana Hostetler out in front who went 6-for-11 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Carley Brandt, who made all 5 shots she took for 13 points and eight rebounds.

Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Linn, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Coming up, Eugene will square off against St. Elizabeth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Linn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
