Basketball Recap: Byers Bulldogs vs. Sanford Mustangs
Byers and Sanford squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Byers had to settle for second. They took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Bulldogs have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Byers lost, don't look at Quincy Eacret. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-16 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Eacret has posted since back in March of 2024. James Maes was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Byers was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their second loss (out of 23 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
