Softball Recap: Tri-West Hendricks Has No Trouble Against Pike

With a playoff win on the line, Tri-West Hendricks rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Pike Red Devils 15-0. Considering the Bruins have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Adelyn Lengerich was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Tri-West Hendricks got a big performance out of Sophie White, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI White has posted over her last nine contests. Peyton Norman was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Tri-West Hendricks was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pike only posted a batting average of .067.

Tri-West Hendricks is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pike, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-24.

Tri-West Hendricks didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-2 defeat against Avon on the 28th. Pike does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
