Baseball Game Preview: Sierra Timberwolves vs. Roseville Tigers

The Sierra Timberwolves will head out to square off against the Roseville Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Sierra is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Placer.

The result came thanks to Wyatt Bauer's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sierra is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-16 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Ryan Reyes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Ricardo Anaya was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Roseville earned a 5-1 victory over Beyer on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Tyler Ritter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyle Pettersen, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Felkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Roseville's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra, their record is now 9-17.
