Softball Recap: Simley Comes Up Short

After soaring to 19 runs the game before, Simley was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South St. Paul Packers. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Packers earlier this season, when they won 9-4.

Simley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for South St. Paul, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Looking ahead, Simley will welcome Washburn at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Millers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for South St. Paul, they will head out to challenge Hastings at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Packers surely won't give up without a fight.
