Basketball Recap: Live Oak Comes Up Short

Live Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northshore Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Panthers are ranked 32nd).

Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Northshore, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Live Oak will host St. Joseph's Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northshore, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Northshore Panthers face off against the Slidell Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Slidell sitting on eight straight wins and Northshore on four.
