Flag Football Recap: Ayleen Apreza Leads Central Valley's Defense on Wednesday

Central Valley owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over the Johansen Vikings. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.

Central Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Apreza, Damaris Cisneros, and Airieana Martinez picked up one apiece. Martinez is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Central Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Johansen, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Central Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Lathrop at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hawks 11.1, the Spartans 9.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Johansen will face off against rival Livingston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
