Baseball Game Preview: Adams Cougars vs. Ennis Lions

The Adams Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Ennis Lions at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Adams blew North Dallas out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday North Dallas got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-2. The Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Jay Ortiz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Ennis had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Horn. The Lions not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1, 2025 (when they won 11-0).

Ennis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Slovak, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Julien Mossiah was another, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
