Soccer Recap: San Leandro Comes Up Short

San Leandro lost against Berkeley back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The San Leandro Pirates came up short against the Berkeley Yellowjackets, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 681st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 80th).

San Leandro's goal came courtesy of Christian Juarez, who's now up to two this season.

This is the second loss in a row for San Leandro and nudges their season record down to 3-3-1. As for Berkeley, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

San Leandro wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Bishop O'Dowd on the 13th. As for Berkeley, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Amador Valley on the 11th.
