Softball Game Preview: Amsterdam Rams vs. Scotia-Glenville Tartans

Amsterdam hasn't had much luck against Scotia-Glenville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will be playing at home against the Tartans at 4:30 p.m. Neither Amsterdam nor Scotia-Glenville posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Amsterdam is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They fell 3-0 to Broadalbin-Perth.

Meanwhile, Scotia-Glenville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Glens Falls 2-1. That's two games straight that the Tartans have won by just one run.

Keeley Kristel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Scotia-Glenville's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rose Malone, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Amsterdam might still be hurting after the 14-1 loss they got from Scotia-Glenville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
