Softball Recap: Tamarac Takes Down Cobleskill-Richmondville in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tamarac walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Bengals are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 14 straight.

Tamarac let Makenna Ashe and Erin Lee run wild. Ashe went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Lee went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Ashe has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Ferris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Tamarac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cobleskill-Richmondville only posted an OBP of .118.

Tamarac's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Cobleskill-Richmondville, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

As of now, neither Tamarac nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
