For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mitchell and River Ridge meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Mustangs' defense stepped up to hand the Royal Knights an 8-0 shutout. Considering Mitchell have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for River Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2-1.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Newsome on the 8th. As for River Ridge, they will face off against Hudson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River Ridge will be up against Hudson's rather soft defense (which has allowed four goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
