Basketball Recap: Pillager Piles Up the Points Against Sebeka

Pillager waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Sebeka Trojans, posting a 73-45 victory. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 26 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Sebeka saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Max Lake went 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Lake continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Gunnar Ament was another key player, putting up nine points.

Pillager's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Sebeka, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Pillager has already played their next game (against Proctor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sebeka will challenge Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
