Recap: Oasis Christian Lions vs. First Academy Eagles
It was a good run, but the Oasis Christian Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 30-18 to First Academy. Oasis Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
Niyhana Tolbert was Oasis Christian's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Beka Ayers held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
First Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Molly Beliveau, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Beliveau has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Weaver, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Oasis Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for First Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8.
Oasis Christian and the Knights will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for First Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Saints at 5:30 p.m.
