Softball Recap: Martinsville Takes Down Bloomington North in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Martinsville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Bloomington North Cougars on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Artesians in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won nine in a row.

Destiny Forler tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nacey Dickinson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Ahvay Scholl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Martinsville's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Bloomington North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Martinsville nor Bloomington North have any future games scheduled.
